We can advise on planning - often a loft conversion can be carried out under Building Regulations control meaning no planning permission need be applied for. We can advise on design, we can supply all the experts you will need to take your ideas through to plans.
Design
Irrespective of whether you need planning permission, you will need to have drawings prepared which provide detailed information for Building Control. Our design team can translate your ideas into sound building practice. Getting the plan right is the key to a quick completion of the work and staying within budget. Once all the decisions are made, it can take as little as 12 weeks to complete the work.

Types of Loft Conversion
Velux (roof windows) is the least expensive loft conversion. However to be worth while the loft needs to have good headroom accross most of the area you want to convert, then you can create a room in the roof that does not alter the roof line. The usable space however, will be determined by the amount of head room within the pitch of the roof. Remember the finished floor level will be higher than the existing level by about 6 inches (150mm) to allow for the insertion of steel beams.
Dormer extensions to the roof are the answer if your priority is to create maximum space in a normal "Box" shaped room. If the dormer extension is at the side or back of the house it will normally only need Building Regulations consent.
